I’ve had an accident. What do I do?
If your car is driveable, pop in & see us at Albion Park for a quote for smash repairs. No appointment necessary & our quotes are free!
What does smash repair mean?
Smash repairs mean fixing cars that have been banged up in accidents. It involves checking how bad the damage is, swapping out or fixing broken parts, and getting the vehicle looking and working like it did before the smash. This can mean panel beating, car painting up, and making sure everything’s sturdy and safe to drive. The aim of smash repairs is to get your wheels back on the road, looking good, and running well after a mishap.
What if my vehicle isn’t driveable?
If your vehicle isn’t driveable, you can organise personally or through your Insurance Company for the vehicle to be towed to our premises & we can take care of the rest.
Can I get a repair quote over the phone?
Unfortunately not. There are a number of variables when quoting vehicle repairs, we need to sight the vehicle to provide a more accurate estimate.
Do I have to contact my Insurer? Or can you do it?
Yes, you will need to contact your Insurance Company. They will have certain questions to ask you in regards to the accident/incident. After making a claim, they will issue you with a claim number. At this time, let your Insurer know, Albion Park Smash Repairs is your preferred repairer.
Will I have to pay an excess?
Your Insurance Company will be able to provide this information to you, it will depend on your policy & if you are or aren’t at fault.
When do I pay my excess?
Once you’ve made your claim, the Insurance Company may take payment over the phone for your excess. Otherwise, it will be payable to Albion Park Smash Repairs on completion of your vehicle repairs.
Please note – If excess is applicable, it must be paid before the vehicle is released by Albion Park Smash Repairs as a condition of your Insurance Claim.
Where will my vehicle be stored?
Your vehicle will be kept in our Worksop. Our premises are locked & alarmed.
How long will repairs take?
This depends on the nature of the damage. Factors such as the type of vehicle & availability of parts impact the repair process. We do pre-order your vehicle parts, and aim to have them on-site before your scheduled booking date.
However, sometimes certain types of damage become apparent only after a vehicle has been dis-assembled. In some cases this may mean we need to revise your completion date, especially if extra parts are required.
We will keep you informed of the repair process along the way.
Can I get a hire car?
Yes, if you have hire car as an option on your Insurance Policy. Check with your Insurer if you are unsure.
Yes, If you are the NOT AT FAULT driver going through the AT FAULTS Insurance.
Yes, If you are not at fault & don’t have hire car cover on your policy, it may be possible to get a hire vehicle through the other party’s Insurer.
No, If you are the at fault driver & don’t have hire car as an option on your policy.
I’m making a claim, can I get other damage rectified under that claim?
No, Insurers class every separate incident as a SEPARATE claim.
If you have damage unrelated to your current claim, you will then be required to make a separate claim, or we can prepare a private quote.
